About Ms. Parker
Ms. Parker, Library Media Specialist
Before becoming a firebird at Folwell in 2016 I worked as the media specialist at Countryside Elementary in Edina, Armatage Montessori in Minneapolis, The Blake Lower School as the teaching assistant in the library and technology lab, and at Minnesota Center for Book Arts as the Youth Programs Coordinator. I have a Master of Library and Information Science degree and a Library Media Specialist teaching license from St. Catherine University. In the summer of 2016 I became a Google Certified Educator qualifing my knowledge and skills to implement and integrate Google for Education tools into everyday teaching.
I collect artists' books and love to read both fiction and nonfiction. I am an enthusiastic maker and consumer of media arts.  Most of all I enjoy spending time with my husband and two teenage children. We still read aloud as a family and are on the last book of the Swallows and Amazon series. Let me know about a good series you've read.
My aim at Folwell is to promote a student-centered school media program that nurtures a culture of curious, creative, and critical learners through enriched information literacy skills, tools, and learning opportunities in reading, research, technology, and collaboration. Please visit the Media Center website page for more information about the media program at Folwell and to access great resources.
