Hello 5th Graders!

We have been hard at work on our biome reports. Please ask your student to read theirs.

Our next area of study will be about the history of the people and  the land of North and South America, before Europeans invasion. Our focus will be on the very important food source of corn.

Much of our learning will come from the book An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States. For Young People written by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz.

Homework

You will have homework everyday. Everyday means 7 days a week!

You will read at home for 30 minutes everyday.

You are to practice your instruments for 20 minutes everyday. This means 20 minutes per instrument. Remember to bring your instruments to school on your lesson days!

You need to get physical exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. If we don't have recess, you need to do this at home.

Expect a communication folder from school every Friday. Please return the folder on Mondays.

Students should be bringing home their planner everyday. Students should show their planner to their parent everyday and discuss what they have learned that day.

If you would like to have some other work to do at home, please read. If you don't have a book you are reading, go ahead and read on NewsELA.com.

OR you can play on Prodigy or DreamBox.
